    3. Hello Marsha Have we talked before? Do you live in Huntington? I too, share this connection with you. I never did get around to tracing the Wooten's back to Virginia. Ooten may have been the original spelling. I recall seeing both in Virginia data. I am descended from Timothy Justice and Rachel Wooten. Her mother was a Castle. I have forgotten her Fathers name. I lost all my early research stuff when my basement became flooded but have a copy of Joe Skeen's Floyd County Consent Papers and it lists the following. 1. Wooten, Elizabeth , Groom, John Anderson 5 Dec 1814 2, Wooten, Elizabeth, Groom, Jesse Bradley 13 Jan 1818 3. Wooten, Rebecca, Groom, John Blevens 30 Jan 1824 4. Wooten, William , Bride, Milly Burgess 25 Aug 1817 5. Wooten, George W. , Bride Polly Bann 8 Mar 1820 6. Wooten, Levi , Bride, Alphia Taylor 9 Aug 1820 7. Wooten, Silas, Bride, Keziah Ward 11 Sep 1827 8. Wooten, Silas P. Bride Sarah Adams 2 Jul 1821 It stands to reason that all these Wooten's were related. Which Silas are we descended from? I will look on my old hard drive to see if I have anything. 3. Marsha... The Castle line is mine, also. Most know they came to the area from Russell County, Va and it is well documented (Although I wasn't the one who did the physical researches) that is where they came from before Johnson/Lawrence Counties. My group comes down through Adam & Rhoda and their daughter Phebe who married Lindsey Castle. The 1844 tax list of Johnson County (Probably the first one of newly formed Johnson County) showed Lindsey owned 50 acres on Toms Creek and then the 1850 census shows him living in Lawrence County. Toms Creek covers a lot of territory in Johnson County and empties into the Big Sandy River near River, Johnson County, KY. My guess is he lived closer to where US 23 is today near Lawrence County line and close to George's Creek around Lowmansville but I don't know for sure. There were a lot of Castles (and still are) in this area. You have a great idea and I will check my records at home to see what I have. I am going from memory here at work. ----- Original Message ----- From: "marsha moses" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 13, 2008 8:50 AM Subject: [EASTERNKENTUCKY] North Carolina to Eastern Kentucky in the late1700's and early 1800's >I have a favor to ask of this list. 3. Depends on which Pack you have listed. Samuel Pack was in Monroe Co and Summers Co. WV. See the History of Monroe Co, WV. George Pack was in Lord Dunmore's War and a signer of the papers creating Giles Co. VA. George Pack and wife 2 Elizabeth Brown lived near [Charley] Tom's Creeks on George Creek. Mitchell Hall in his books on Johnson Co Kentucky, has a list of people on water courses for that time frame. Ancestry.com has some of his volumns available. There are 4 volumns. They also were in Montgomery Co. Wolf Creek, Montgomery Co. John V. Borders according to what I found was also in Giles Co., VA, he married a Sellards there. Good Luck with your search.
