As the story (legend ??) goes, grandpa Bill married his first wife, Nancy, in Texas, probably in Milam County. It was also there where he left her for the "other woman" who is said to have only been twelve years old. Nancy supposedly left and took my grandfather Jake, still an infant, to Florida, where she "married a Wilson". Bill subsequently moved to Oklahoma, probably near Ada, and started a gin. When Jake was ten, he ran away from his stepfather Wilson and wandered across Florida to Texas and then to Oklahoma, until he was eighteen, before finding his father in Ada. This second union is so obscure, that John Cloud lived and taught school in Konowa, Oklahoma alongside his kin from his father's first marriage and apparently only a few knew the relationship. (I recently traveled to Konowa and was told about John, it being explained that he was a "CLOUD", but was no kin.
