Hello, I am researching the names of CLAY, MOREAU and KING, in SHELBY COUNTY, East Texas. My Great Grandfather was Charles B. Clay born March 04, 1843. He came to Texas from Louisiana, He married Mellissa Moreau. He owned the Clay Farm in Timpson ( he cleared the land in the PINEY WOODS to farm the land.) He died March 10, 1925. He and Mellissa are both buried at the Waterman Cemetery near Timpson. Children of Charles and Mellissa are: Hattie Clay, Ellen Clay, Quincy Clay, Grover Hillion Clay. He may have had to boys from a previous marriage: Ed Clay and Webster Clay. My Grandmother was Susan Ellen King, her mother was Sara Martha King. Susie married to Grover Hillion Clay the son of Charles B. Clay. I know she was a member of the Church of Christ in Center Texas. Grover and Susie divorced. The Kings later moved to Cleburne. I would like information on the towns of CENTER, TIMPSON, and WATERMAN which no longer exists. How do I obtain church records??? Thank you Sue in CA
