I need information on John Browns. John R Brown, son of John F. Brown, was born in Jefferson Co. MS, but his father died before he was born, & his mother took him to Hempstead Co. Arkansas when he was very young. He lived there until about 1870 when he came to Navarro Co. TX with his mother & her second family, McCanlies. He had married in AR, and had two children, Molly S.(1867) and JOHN F Brown (b 1869). and I have found the children in the homes of McCanlies relatives in 1870(Navarro Co.) and 1880 (Shackleford Co.) but do not know any more. I would be so pleased to learn any more about this half-brother & half-sister to my great grandfather....Family stories say that Mollie married a Hightower, but I have found no record. Linda Sykes
