Hi, Shelley: I don't know who this John F. BROWN is, but since I noticed that your husband's grandfather's name was Marion Jefferson BROWN, I just had to email you. There seemed to have been several BROWN families around, but my connections were from a Jefferson Green BROWN. His father was Thomas BROWN. Jefferson's brother was Columbus W. BROWN. My Jefferson had some sort of connection to a Love T. BROWN as he was the administrator of their estate (which did not mention any relationship). Jefferson and Columbus also gave their Power of Attorney to someone to handle a transaction related to a Francis E. BROWN (I also do not know his relationship -- if any -- to them). All of these legal transactions took place in Cherokee County, TX, one in 1849 and not sure of the other date. I know that Jefferson was in Fayette Co., TX, by 1861, as he was the administrator of his father, Thomas BROWN's, estate, who were both residents of that same county. While doing some research for Cherokee Co., I also ran across a Jefferson P. BROWN, and do not know if he was connected in any way to my BROWNs. Do any of these names sound familiar? Lana LeCROY
