In the 1870-1880's, a number of families began migrating from Muscogee/Chatachoochie Counties, GA. to East TX. Surnames were BLAND, GREER, BAGGETT, JOHNSON, SIZEMORE, NICHOLLS, PATE. These families settled mostly in the North East of San Augustine and many of them are buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery on HWY 147, behind the Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
