They had the following children: 1. (My Great-Grandfather) - Ab/Albert SANDERS born 1854 in Georgia, died Nov. 15, 1939 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX, buried Nov. 17, 1939 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX; married Bettie OWINGTON or OWENS, born in Memphis, TN (possibly); sold into slavery as a baby in Memphis, TN; sold again at New Orleans, LA to the FORDS (from Linden, TX); the FORDS took her from New Orleans to Linden (Cass Co.), TX. They had the following children: A). (My Paternal Grandfather) - Cary "Bud" SANDERS born 1880 in Linden (Cass Co.), died May 23, 1965 in Linden, TX, buried May 29, 1965 at Macedonia Cemetery in Linden, TX. Married Florine SMITH, born in Texas (date unknown). They had the following children: (1). Morris SANDERS, born Dec. 15, 1900 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX; died Oct. 1974 in Greenville, TX, buried Oct. 19, 1974 at Grundy Memorial Park, Greenville, TX; married Josephine McGRAW, born Feb. 3, 1897 in Douglasville, TX; died May 3, 1978 in Greenville, TX, buried May 6, 1978 at Grundy Memorial Park, Greenville, TX. (2). Lucille SANDERS born July 12, 1904, died June 5, 1968 in Linden, TX, buried June 13, 1968 at Macedonia Cemetery in Linden, TX. (3). Florence SANDERS born Mar. 7, 1906 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX; died Nov. 10, 1988 in Linden, TX, buried Nov. 18, 1988 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Linden, TX. (4). Clifton "Bess" SANDERS, born Sept. 7, 1913 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX; is presently living in Freeport, TX (5). Etha SANDERS born 25, 1915 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX; died Jan. 6, 1994 in Dallas, TX, buried Jan. 8, 1994 at Lincoln Memorial Park Annex, Dallas, TX. (6). (My father) - Willie SANDERS, born Sept. 30, 1923 in Linden (Cass Co.), TX; died Dec. 4, 1982 in Linden, TX; buried Dec. 11, 1982 at Macedonia Cemetery in Linden, TX. (7). Eva Mae SANDERS, date of birth and death unknown. Born in Linden, TX. (8) Lawrence SANDERS, date of birth and death unknown. Born in Linden, TX, buried in the Old Linden Cemetery "COLORED" section. (9) Leo SANDERS, date of birth and death unknown. Born in Linden, TX, died and is buried in Minneapolis, MN. 2. Henry SANDERS born 1849 in Georgia; married Elsy/Elsey CASTEEL, born in 1859 in ARKANSAS. 3. Rena SANDERS born 1856 in Cass County, Texas. 4. Bob (Robin) SANDERS born 1861 in Cass County, Texas. 5. Angeline SANDERS born 1858 in Cass County, Texas. Great-Great-Grandfather, Cary SANDERS next married Sarah (MAIDEN NAME UNKNOWN) born 1842 in Georgia. And they had the following children: 1. Edmond SANDERS born 1870 in Linden (Cass County), Texas. 2. Daniel SANDERS born 1872 in Linden (Cass County), Texas. 3. Amanda SANDERS born 1873 in Linden (Cass County), Texas. 4. Mollie SANDERS born 1875 in (Cass County), Texas. Would like to exchange information with anyone doing research on the African-American SANDERS or SMITH family from Linden (Cass Co.), TX. Have a lot of missing links still. I especially would like to find out more about the county in Georgia that these SANDERS's came from.
