I am having a time trying to find my husband's relatives. Someone told me the SPENCER's were elusive. I am beginning to believe that now. I'm looking for James W. Spencer. The "W" could be William. He was born 4/14/1861 (Not sure of birthplace) and died Smith Co., TX on 8/6/1926. I called and spoke with the county clerk of Smith Co., Texas and there was no birth certificate on James W. Spencer. Somehow the family managed to get by with not filling it out. He was married to Nina Lucy Brooks. A family member said that the Spencer's came across the Mississippi River to Texas in 1889. I have a picture that says that James W. Spencer's sister was Nora(possibly 1/2 sister) who married George Harris or Harrison and a 1/2 sister named Susie who married Buff Thorton. I would appreciate any kind of help:) Rhonda Gregg Spencer ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
