ATTENTION: The Shelby County Historical Society - (Shelby County, Texas) holds monthly meetings and publishes a monthly NEWSLETTER along with being the support organization for the Shelby County Museum. The Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductible. The Museum houses historic collects of artifacts dating back 600 year ago. Along with the artifacts is a modern Genealogy Research Library where researchers can assist for a minimum charge of $5 per hour, plus coping of .25 cents per copy and postage. All money goes to the upkeep of the Museum. During 1999 the museum hosted over 2800 visitors. Volunteers donated over 4500 hours and the Museum was open 1500 hours.
