I found him by reviewing Carolyn Ericson's Nacogdoches -- Gatweay to Texas that Aaron (Mulatto) - - b. ca 1856 Texas, married Sarah Atkins 21 December 1875, grandson of Mary B. Garrett, b. ca. 1820. 1870 census, farmer, 1880 census. Children: Sally b. ca 1877, Bunch, b. ca 1878, Ellis, b. ca 1880. I am still trying to figure who J. S. Muckleroy's family is. I found him in the Murrie Marriage Record book. 22 November 1876 J. S. Muckleroy to Emma Meeks, Officant R. A. Hargis Also on page 78 of Carolyn Ericson's 1880 Census - Probably around Melrose J. S. Muckleroy 26 M W Farmer TX Emma (Meeks) Wife 26 F W TX Roy Son 3 M W TX Emma and Mary E. who married John Muckleroy were sisters, daughters of Isaac and Jane Meeks. Can't find J.
