I am trying to do some research on the Bowers famiy of East Texas. The rumor is that John Wesley Bowers (b. 1819 in GA, d. 1899 in TX, bur. Old Prospect Cemetery) came from Ireland on a ship named the Cleopatria. From this his son Patrick Henry Bowers (B. 1871 In FL, d. 1955 in TX, bur. Old Prospect Cemetery, mar. Mary Ella Lunsford) named one of his 12 children Cleopatria. I have searched the internet trying to locate a ship named the Cloepatria. Does anyone know anything that might back this story up or can can anyone point me in another direction to look. I have continued to search ship records over the internet, but haven't had much luck.
