Both of my parents were born in Van Zandt County, and all their people were from Kaufman, County. The same kinds of stories filled the lives of us six children. Although we traveled and lived in other places all our lives, I never was able to visit the memories they talked about until late in life. Your story brought tears and feelings of the first time I visited my grandparents homestead in Texas. The first time I found a relation on line from a careing Texas researcher and the wonderful friends I have made from the area you type about.
