I accidentally deleted a query concerning my Lewis connection so I have to send this reply to the list rather than directly to the person seeking help. Please forgive this intrusion. My foster father was named Frederick Charles Lewis, b. 12 Aug. 1897 in Polk County, FL. The name of his parents were: CHARLES ANDREW LEWIS, b. Mar. 1874, Florida MOLLIE TAYLOR, b. May 1878, Georgia. As far as I can determine the latter couple married in Florida in 1896. I have no other information. Dates were taken from Tampa, Florida census records where the Lewis family lived in the early part of 1900. The Lewis family lived in the household of John (age 46 - b. Mar. 1854)) and Mattie Taylor (age 44 - b. May 1858) in the 1900 Tampa (Hillsborough County, Florida census. Both, John and Mattie, were born in Georgia. I can remember my Grandmother Robinson calling Dad Lewis, good naturally, a damn Yankee. He just laughed. Tracing LEWIS' is like trying to trace Adams or Jones. There are just too darn many unless someone points the researcher in the right direction. Angus "Scotty" Robinson
