This is in response to an earlier posting about Texas death certificates. Not all certificates were filed in counties or with the state. For a period of time, some cities maintained death records. For example, my g grandmother died in 1941 in Victoria, TX. After two attempts to get her death certificate through Austin with no success, I contacted the city offices in Victoria and found it there. John Hull
