Hello All :) I sure hope someone out there can help. I need to find information on my grandmother's murder/death, and possibly her family as well. Her name was Mary Elizabeth (Johnson) May, born 1/6/1926 (not sure where...maybe Arkansas or Oklahoma) died1/12/1964 in either Van (Van Zandt Co) or Gladewater (Gregg County). She was the former wife of Harry Merman May, Jr. They had divorced sometime in the early 1950's. They had three children. They had also lived in Longview (Gregg Co). My grandmother was brutally murdered and the case was evidently highly publicized. If anyone out there has newspaper clippings, articles, etc, of the case, I would be interested in any genealogical info they may contain. I have some possible names of Mary Elizabeth's parents....Harvey Lee JOHNSON and Florence "Daisy" or "Daisey" COPELAND (who was full Cheyenne or Cherokee Indian).
