Hoping to find relatives. This is information compiled by Karen Kerr, Mary Collie Cooper, and Robbie Sanders. Mary is the primary researcher. Archibald Campbell m. Mary ? came from Scotland to Cape Fear,NC abt 1734. Archiblad left a will in 1763 mentioning three children: Edward,Alexander,and Katherine. Edward Campbell b.1746 in Cumberland Dist.,NC. He married Mary ? They had nine children. About 1805 the family moved to Hillsdale Farm,in Williamson Co.,Tennessee. Edward died and was burried on the farm in 1825. Duncan C. Campbell was the fourth son of Edward and Mary Campbell. At the age of 19 in 1814 he was enlisted in the Tennessee Militia under Andrew Jackson. In the 1819 he married Polly Vance Aiken and they had two sons and a daughter that died in infancy. Polly died at an early age and the two boys were raised by Polly's parents in Tennessee. Duncan remarried to Nancy Anderson in 1827. They moved to Holly Springs,Marshall Mississippi. Most of thier children were born there,but in 1851 they moved to Texas. First around Austin and then to Bastrop,Texas. Duncan was a saddlemaker and farmer. Children: James Howard Campbell m. Jennie Dobson ( atleast 2 sons) James and Byrd) Rebecca Jane Campbell m.#1 Thomas Forehand (son: Aldopheus Forehand) #2 J.D.Blalock (son: Benjamin Blalock)#3 Silas Hanah(no children). George Washington Campbell m.#1 Leonara Lincecum #2 Mary Louise Caldwell. (daughter Bird Campbell) Jerome Bonaparte Campbell m.Moina Stamps Children: Stamps,Moina,Robert,and Jerome Jr. Campbell. Lucien or Lucias?? Campbell (No information) *William M. Campbell b.1838 Changed name to Sport Houston and is listed as William Houston on Census. m. Virginia Patrick in Leon Co.,Texas.(Two sons: Samuel and *Duncan Campbell) William owned the Limerick Saloon in Centerville,Texas. He died in 1880. His wife Virginia remarried to John C.Parker in 1889. She had another son,half brother to Duncan and Samuel.He was Barney Parker,b.1890.Sam m.Addie Hoyt and was a tailor. Mississippi Susan Campbell m.William C.Moore (Children: James W.,Will C.,Leon Polk, Walter,and Hattye Moore) Columbus (Lum) Campbell Unknown history. Robert Fulton Campbell m. Thebe Irene Wallace.Children: Lum,Adele,Edgar,Stafford and maybe others. Robert was county commissioner in Bastrrop and later was mayor of El Paso. Neil F.Campbell m. Josephine Wallace. known child Lomer? and atleast one daughter. Harriet Campbell m Dr. A.B. Gardner in Austin Co.,Texas. Children: Lula and Claud,possibly others. * Duncan Campbell my g grandfather married Eva Samantha Hinson in 1896 in Leon Co.,Texas. He divorced her abt.1915.Leaving her to raise 6 children. He moved to Houston and reportedly operated a brothel. He remarried May?? Duncan was drinking and mistook an alligator for a log upon which to cross a creek. The alligator bit off his leg. He had it killed and made into a type of artificial leg and boot.(we still have those). He died abt 5 years later in 1929 and his new wife shipped the body back to the family. The children of Duncan and Eva S.Campbell were: Sophie b.1899 m.Roand Engels. Wood b. 1900 m.Esther Parker He was a bootlegger and was murdered in Anderson Co Texas in 1931. Robert Leo b.1903 m. Mary Zell Campbell(no relation) foster son Jerry ? He was a celebrated philanthropist and established many charites in East Texas. Fred b. 1905 m.Inez Cripps one child Shirley Campbell Velma Hudson b.1909 m.#1 Herbert A.Moore( two children: Grace Lorraine and Roland Burnette Moore) #2 Dewey Hamilton Davis Jr.(one child:Dewey H.Davis III aka Smokey) Eva b.1910 died as child.
