Why > do you not help them more? > My two "hobbies" are computers and genealogy, in both fields I have found that you can almost never repay the person who helped you learn the ropes or advanced your research -- SOOOO - I take solice in an old proverb that says If you cannot repay the one who has helped you then repay the debt by helping ten others. In addition to personal help to individuals, I attempt to help the "Group". In a few weeks I will be in MN to do some research (annual genealogy vacation) while there I will survey 3 small cemeteries weather permitting. These will be word processed and sent to the Gen Web for the countys concerned. From experience maybe one will be published; lack of space on server, policy of the webmaster, privacy concerns, no cemetery / census section, and a hundred other reasons will cause the information to be filed with a copy sent to the local libraty / genealogy soc. I am not discouraged by this and will continue to submit info. I understand the MASSIVE nature of data and that decisions must be made in light of economics, time limits, and other limitations to manage the resources provided. Your wife has the incurable genealogy bug, as well as her current physical problems. I ask of my patient and long suffering wife that she humor me in my disease -- I ask of you that you humor us, the folks with the genealogy disease, we are not perfect YET but the maker isn't finished with us. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your wife, and our thanks to you for your patience and support of both your wife's and our genealogy bug. -- Researching: Benson, Anderson, Slaughter, Scheeley, Conn, Odiorne, Sorensen, Eckloe, Jacobson, Troset, Lorents/Lawrence View my pedigree names at my web site: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/a/n/d/JOHN-E-ANDERSON/
