Hi Group, Here's another East Tx Walker and descendents, prob. not mine, but maybe will help someone. 1860, Janie Hathorn Walker and children Alice Johnnie Roann and William moved from Al to TX by boat to Galveston, to meet Janie's husband, Robert WAlker. After waiting 3 months (apparently Robert never showed up), they took another boat up the Trinity River to Onalaska, Polk Co., TX. Where they settled and stayed for 9 years. She sold the land in 1869 and moved to Little Rock Ark, where her brother lived. On the way to ARk, in Houston Co. Alice met James Luce. He followed her to Ark, where they married, then Alice and James returned to Houston Co. and settled a claim near Cachine Creek. They had children Salathiel, Fratus, Mattie, Sarah Jane, Meddie and Vernie. James died of pneumonia in 1889, Hagersville, Tx. Alice later moved to Trinity Co, Tx where she died in 1935, and is buried in Ivy Cemetery in Houston County, TX> In the meantime, Janie left ARK with her family and her brother and his family where they returned to TX and settled near Caney Creek in Trinity co. I don't believe this is part of my elusive Walker families, but who knows. If this connects for someone, I have more information. Wonder what ever happened to Robert? Sandy
