Hello, All, I have just put up an INDEX to all of the Surnames, Queries and Researchers on the Nacogdoches Co Genweb page. Several other county coordinators in East Texas are already using the CCHelper software to create these indexes. The software is still a little rough around the edges(in my opinion -- it has crashed numerous times and most other things do not) BUT its output is really nifty. For genealogists the more searchable something is, the more valuable it is. Just think about the last book you looked at that did *not* have an index! Come take a look. The program didn't like the dates I had input, so everything defaulted to Friday night. Some of the queries are old, some are very new. I will work on adding whatever other older queries I can find, and of course, will add any new queries or surname registrations. Please limit queries and surname registrations to NACOGDOCHES COUNTY ONLY. East-Texas-Rooters with family in other East Texas Counties: go to the appropriate county and send your queries and register your surnames. If the county you are interested in does not have the Index yet, you could ask the county coordinator to take a look at the output of an East Texas county that does have the Index. Again, especially for Nacogdoches rooters -- when you register your surnames or submit a query, if you have a web page of family genealogy *that relates directly to Nacogdoches County* -- please be sure to give me the URL. There is a place for it in the Researcher Profile, and it will allow people to visit your site to find all the additional information you have there. Sincerely, Pam Phillips Nacogdoches County Genweb Coordinator
