    3. Christine-- My cousin has a Masters line & I am working with her on it. So far all she has is Sarah J. MASTERS who m. 1840 Jackson Co., MO to John FINLEY/FINDLEY. There was another MASTERS girl who m. a possible bro/o John but no proof. John FINLEY was b. 1810 in TN (Co. unk.). He was a son of Edmond FINLEY who had previously lived in Mercer & Garrard Co.'s KY. After their marriage, they moved to AR for a while (Co. unk.), the before 1850 to Hopkins Co., TX, by 1860 they are in Hunt Co., TX. They separated c1854 & he remarried to his cousin Elizabeth FINDLEY. Both families came to CA on the same wagon train in 1857, first settling in Los Angeles Co., at Ft. Tejon (now in Kern Co.). Later they moved to Drumm Valley in Tulare Co. Hanford that you mention is probably only 30 miles distant from where the FINLEY's lived. Sarah MASTERS FINELY d. about 1886. That's about all I know. I am hoping that in your collection you might have knowledge of Sarah, or of MASTERS in those area--especially Jackson Co., MO. 1. MARY ELIZABETH MOODY METCALF
    2. Dan Capps
    3. Can anyone help me with this person? Mary Elizabeth Moody Metcalf Mary Elizabeth Moody was reportedly born in Louisiana on 17 Oct 1843. She died 1 Feb 1911 in Shelby County Texas. She married William Baird Metcalf in Griffin, Cherokee, Texas. One of her grandsons told me that she came to Shelby County from Baton Rouge. She appears in the 1850 census in the household of her father James Moody and mother Ann. They both stated that they were born in Georgia. All her siblings were born in Alabama. Siblings were William, John, Domalitte (f) and Levy. Family tradition is that William Baird married a Sarah Bowden after Mary died and I find a Sarah Metcalf in “Our Dead”. However, I have an old picture of an older lady that is marked on the back as Mary Elizabeth Bowden Metcalf does. William Baird’s obit states that he was a Confederate veteran but I can find no record of this. Any help would be appreciated Dan Capps

    3. To those of you that gave me pointers as to cemeteries listing my grandfather, M L Draper, I do thank you. I haven't found him yet, as Navarro web site has no cemeteries listed. However, they do offer the info for sale. Believe I'll go another route. I did post a query on the Navarro mail list & have had many responses from those with Oakwood Cemetery. He's not there, so that allows me to eliminate that one. A visit to my local library may turn up something & I do believe I'll send off for his death certificate. He & my Uncle Billy are buried in the same cemetery. So, again, I thank you. LindaJ
