I'm seeking info on two subjects: I have a HOUSE line that moved to Wheelock, Robertson Co, TX....Nicholas D. HOUSE b 1813 and wife Elizabeth ?? b 1813. They had a daughter Eliza Jane b 1856 who married Wiley Alexander ENOS b 1853 in Franklin, Robertson Co, TX. My ancestor was Eliza Jane's sister Mary Elizabeth HOUSE HALL. If you are familiar with this line, I would welcome an exchange of info. ALSO....I need to obtain a copy of the death certificate of Eliza Jane ENOS to see if it shows her mother's maiden name. Can anyone tell me where to write and how much it costs ....or is there someone who would be willing to do the legwork locally? I'll be more than happy to pay for your time as well as any costs incurred. Thanks!! If they don't have cemetery list for Navarro Co. try the libraries at Grapevine, Fort Worth, and Dallas. One of these will have the listing IF it has been published. Find a copy of "Roads of Texas", its a set of maps. Should be at any of the above libraries and is and many office supply stores. There are two cemeteries shown west of Dresden, one just north of FM 744, the other further west and south of FM 744 (Old Raleigh). There are several other cemeteries in the area but these are the closest. Sorry, no name given for the first one. She may have been buried where she was killed, cemetery or not. I am researching Davis' and Crunks in East Texas and was noticing that two Davis marriages took place fairly close together in Rusk Co: William DAVIS m. Zaselda CRUNK 12 Oct 1843 Joseph PENNINGTON m. Eliza Ann DAVIS 16 Nov 1843 Since William and Zaselda named their first child Eliza (b. 12 November 1844). Does anyone know if Eliza Ann DAVIS and WIlliam DAVIS were related? Claire English

Dear Joan, I have an Ida Van NORRIS that I know very little about. I was a little confused (forgive me). Were there four little girls born in Texas with the last name of NORRIS? If so, I'm very interested in your information. I just found my g-grandmother Ida NORRIS (b. abt. 1887) in the 1900 OK census living with I think an aunt. She says that she was born in TX. Her death certificate states UNKNOWN for parents so I'm at a dead end and don't know where to turn. If I misunderstood what you were saying, please forgive me. Thanks Anne Wise WiserM@aol.com
I am researching the family of Norris and Becky Foster who came to the Grimes-Walker County area before 1840. They had a son also named Norris who was born in 1825 (I think) in Mississippi, and who married (?) presumably in texas and who had four little girls. His wife died shortly after last girl born (maybe in childbirth) and Norris the younger shortly thereafter. Little girls raised by Uncle James Willam Norris and his wife, former Harriet Dreher of Louisiana. One of these little girls (Sarah Jane) married John P. Wilkinson and they were parents of my grandfather, James William Wilkinson. The question: Who was the girl that Norris the younger married?Anyone have any idea or any suggestion as to where t o look? joan

Hi - I'm lookin for information on Juan Nepomuceno de la Cerda and his wife Marie Ignacia Celetina Flores. They had a son named Jose Athanasio de la Cerda b. 1785 he married Ildefonsa Sims "Chimis" (her parents were Richard Sims and Marie c. Perez) in 1810. The de la Cerda's came from Nacogdoches, County to Natchitoches County, La. sometime during Jose Athanasio's life (I don't think they moved to La. before he was born, but he could have some link to Los Adaes.) Jose & Ildefonsa had a daughter named Catherina de la Cerda b. 1825. She married Leander Padilla ("Leon Paddy") and they lived in Natchitoches County but I am not sure if Leon and Catherina met and were married in Nacogdoches. Any info on this family would be appreciated. Other names in the family:- EDWARDS, BASCO, TROQUILLE, HERNANDEZ, VANNIER, MORA AND CEDARS. tHANKS - jENNIFER

Does anyone have any information about James Rutheford MOORE b 1798, who went to Texas? He is the sister of Jane Moore m. 2nd Charles Fitzgerald Tiffany 6 Jan 1853. I have a feeling this may be why Emerine Tiffany WILLS came to TX in the late 1850's. There are many MOORES around Tyrrell. I feel sure some of them must be connected. One of the WILLS girls ( Susan Vermillion WILLS) married John G MOORE (30 Jan 1826 - 2 July 1880). The names the MOORE girls married are: DREW, JONES, WARE, TRICE, MC FARLAND, MARTIN, ALLEN Their sons were: Edmund and John G Jr. I am wondering if the John M MOORE who lives on Moore Ave in Tyrrell TX could be a descendent. There are MOORES & WARES in the cemetery plot with my grandmother and greatgrandmother (Martha Wills BOOTH and Emerine Tiffany WILLS). I am still trying to find out why Emerine, a widow, came to TX and if that person came before 1846 for the First Families of TX. Any help will be more that appreciated. Hi, My name is Claire English and I'm researching the following surnames that have Texas connections: Is anyone else researching this family? I am descendant of John Wesley DAVIS, s/o William DAVIS and Zaselda CRUNK. John Wesley DAVIS and William Eads DAVIS settled in St Landry/Acadia Parish, LA, so most of their descendants are there. Children from his second marriage to Francis Adline HEATHCOCK grew up in Tyler Co TX and many remained there. Am looking for ancestors of DAVIS/CRUNK/MAYES of course. I have just recently found Zaselda CRUNK's parents so I have more research to do in that area. For those of you who saw this on the Tyler Co mailing list, I've made a few corrections listed at the bottom and prettied it up a bit. 0;^) 1 William DAVIS b: [2 Mar?] 1826 TN d: 1895 (buried Davis Cemetery, Tyler Co.
