    3. I'm here also. Researching Panola and Shelby Counties. Everett S. RITTER arrived in Shelby County abt 1832. He married Anna GOODWIN (maybe sister to Shirley GOODWIN -male) in Hardeman Co., TN in 1828. Everett S. Ritter is on the 1860 Panola County Federal Census. He had a son, William A. RITTER, who married Mary Tabitha SAMPLE abt 1852 and died in CSA at Battle of Mansfield in LA. Wm. and Mary Tabitha had daughther, Sarah Ann RITTER, who married Joseph TIDWELL, L. A. BARNETT and Hiram ADAMS before her death in 1899. After William's death, Mary Tabita married Henry BATES in 1868 . Any information on any of those surnames would be appreciated.Everett S.     3. Seeking date of death of George Preston BIRDWELL, born 31 July 1845 Lawrence Co., AL, who married 1) Rebecca A. Kilgore 18 Jan 1866, and 2) Cassandra A. BLACKBURN 24 Feb. 1869. He was the son of Allen & Luinda Ross BIRDWELL. George was a Confederate soldier having served in Co. G., 10th Texas Dismounted Cavalry. He served as Chaplain for two years.
