Please read her message back to me and share with others. THanks <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> From: [email protected] Received: from [email protected] Pam, I called the Military Personnel Records Service Center here in St Louis after reading your e-mail and they said the information on the internet is false. No new records have been found from the fire. Records were sent to them were Surgeon General Orders and these do not have names of service men only numbers and they do not relate to the service men's numbers. AND only the veteran's administration has access to them. These records only tell what procedures were done to injuries so relate to medical info only. I accidentally deleted your message, so will you please e-mail everyone on that list and set the record straight. I do not understand why someone would start a rumor like this and send it all over the world. These are the genealogists? Whatever happened to "CIte your Sources"? I didn't see any mention of where this info came from. Well, I must get back to work. :-) Gilda SOURCES LOOKED "SO GOOD":( Me Cajun-Lynx~Un Chauvin est un Jingo ou, en englais, a violent patriot". 1. PENSION FILES FOUND
    2. Perhaps some of you will be interested in this...got off another mailing list. <The following was printed in Lucas Co., IA July 1999 newsletter. <Pension Files Found Over a hundred boxes of pension records that date back to the "Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the Seminole War" were recently found at the National Archives. None of these have ever been indexed or microfilmed. They are arranged by account number and are being published in American Genealogy Magazine by Datatrace System, PO Box 1587, Stephenville, Texas 76401> <Veterans Records Discovered Some 10 million duplicate of 20th century military records thought to have been destroyed in the 1973 fire have been found by the Veterans Administration. If you have been told the records you need were burned in that fire, you may want to write again to: National Personnel Records, GSA 9700 Page Blvd. St. Louis, MO.>

    2. Hi Cousins, Never under-estimate "the power of a cousin" when you need to find something! I was thrilled when I opened my e-mail from my dear cousin Kathleen Skeen last night. She made a trip to San Antonio and found our Mary Jane Harris(Richardson) mentioned in the will of her brother, James Harris. A cut and paste copy follows: "Mary Jane (Harris) Richardson. I quote from Georgia D.A.R. Historical Collections pg.40/41 of Vol II. Records of Richmond County, Georgia Formerly Saint Paul's Parish. HARRIS, JAMES--Page 19-- Wife Tabitha to have life estate in platation and slaves, at her decease to be divided between my three sons: Michaael, Walter and Jeremiah. Beloved sister Mary Richardson to have support out of estate. To son-in-law Robert Wyche, a bond given by George Morse for $800.00. To dau. Ruthy Beal $2.00, to dau. Margaret Harris, slaves, to dau. Rachel Harris slaves, to dau. Verlinda Harris, slaves. Wife and three sons Excrs. Signed Apr. 14, l803. Probated Nov. 7, l803. Wit: Dennis Smelt, Abraham Jones, Hezekiah Beal. Now this proves the connection of Mary Jane Harris having a brother named James, and they lived in Georgia... But the big question still is who are the parent's and where did they come from?" Maybe with the extra names of children in the will we can backtrack a little further into Mary Jane and Jame's history. Amy

    3. Consort, was a polite way of saying not married. It seemed to be an acceptible thing back in England in days of the knights and miladies. Sometime one or the other was married and could not divorce, so they consorted. My book says spend a lot of time with. I got an email from JanWoodard this A.M. she said she had been sent an inquiry by me from Charles Blakley, She offered to corrospond with me and to help with Gen. She says she will be glad to share, but none of her stuff has been proven, she wants to know what I have on Elijah, and says she is also talking w/ someone else so between the three of us we might get it. I told her I had gotten some info from my dau. I must have not mention your name. Does she know where you got some of your stuff? I dont know what to say now, I dont want her to think I was misleading her, do you think she will? I guess I should just tell her My dau is Eing with her. Get back ! ok. 2. I have the Wilson/Lewis Family Bible (first entry 1805).All but the first few entries are in Avoylles and Point Coupee,La. The wives making the entries about family info always refered to spouses as consort of whomever. I thought that it was an unusual practice and wording.I looked it up in the dictionary and it said it was an old method from Europe of defining relationship. Karen Kerr

These two sisters had other siblings, their father was named Jethro, is this the family? Val
