I think the other thing to remember that Ancestry has - is the majority of the London and Middlesex parish registers online. As about one-sixth of the population has always lived in London, and it has survived by in-migration, we all have London ancestors or relations - but could never find them. FindMyPast will pick up the Westminster Archives collection, and British Origins has other useful information - but there is a mass of ancillary information going online too: Settlement Examinations; Workhouse Records, etc. This is truly changing everything about how you do research. And that is before you start to appreciate the $14 million dollars Ancestry are rumoured to have spent on autosomal DNA testing. But hardly anyone in the UK has heard of autosomal DNA testing (yet). From what I can see the only one relevant to South West Wales is the poll book for the Carmarthenshire election of 1754. The book gives the names of the voters, the location of the freehold property which entitled them to vote and their place of residence. The 1722 Carmarthenshire poll book is already online at http://carmarthenshirehistorian.org/ Enter "pollbook" into the search box.
