Re: Pembrokeshire Records ([email protected]) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob I don't know if I have corresponded with you previously about the Roach/Roches in my grandmother's line.? Henry Roach was a contemporary of your Michael, born 1811 Freystrop per several census..? I never found him in 1841 though, and can't say if he is related to Michael, although I think a good possibility. He died 1885 H'west. Sometimes families move together, so here is a brief accounting of where I have documented my Roaches: His wife Sarah was born in LLangwm (various spellings) as were all his children, the eldest being Henry too, born 1845, who married Ellen/Helen Birch my ggmother's sister. The first 5 of 13 children were born in H'west. Henry?II changed the spelling of the name to Roche, and moved to Bedminster/Bristol, Somerset where 8 more children were born. Most of them married in that area, except Florence married in 1886 Walsall Staffordshire; Bernard married 1910 Worksop, Notts. That is all. Rachel Boyd Meriden, CT ? ? ? Thanks for you message. Yes he could turn up in some parish outside Pembrokeshire, especially if his father also worked for HM or was a seaman. I have? done some checking of other areas but not found him as yet.
