Joy and others - I am looking for records other than census and bmd's. I would like to know if Quarter Session and Petty Session records exist for Pembrokeshire, also records of the Assizes, Order Books, records of the Overseers of the Poor, Settlement and Removal records, Settlement Examinations, Freemen's Rolls, land, hearth, and window, and hair powder tax assessments, local population listings other than the census, Vestry minutes, Church Warden accounts, manorial surveys, etc. Is anyone familiar with these records? Thanks so much for responding, Joy. None of their material is available online but the staff at the Archives will do paid research at a very reasonable rate. http://records.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/calmview/ Kind regards Joy ================================ Dyfed list REVISED resources http://home.clara.net/daibevan/DyfedML.html [Dec2012] ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to DYFED-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Lynne May be helpful to your query - I guess you're aware of Basil Hughes's many books on Pem. Possible you didn't know he's now in the process of putting these on amazon's kindle books. Searching the latter site brings up 20 entries. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/280-4981206-4495539?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=basil+hughes Gareth Hicks Genuki Wales http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/ Gareth's Help Page http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ukwales2/hicks.html Cwmgors a'r Waun http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cwmgors/Waun.html -----Original Message----- From: Lynne Ingalls Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2013 11:21 PM To: Joy ; dyfed@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Dyfed] Parish Chest Records Joy and others - I am looking for records other than census and bmd's.
