I have two George Families on my tree in North Pembrokeshire - they are both on my father's side but otherwise are not connected On my grandfather's side I have Stephen George born approx 1780 in Llanwnda/St Nicholas married Sophia Nicholashad four children 2 sons, 2 daughters I descend from his daughter Margaret 1815-1899 on my grandmother's sideWilliam George born 1770 Pencaer strumble headhis daughter Dorothy 1811- 1878 married Benjamin Thomas 1812-1891 in a book written by Elvet Thomas another descendent of Dorothy "tyfu'n gymro" he says that Dorothy was "a close cousin to David Lloyd George's father" a link I've been unable to establish. I would be very interested if any of the George researchers think they have a link to either of my families.Thanks. I have studied the George family of Fagwr Fran Puncheston Pembrokeshire. Unfortunately I cannot find enough evidence to state that John George head of this family in 1841 census was a brother to William George the direct ancestor of Lloyd George, but members of Lloyd George's Tree? have found a connection to Fagwr Fran.? Lloyd George's branch were at Llanwnda and nearby districts of North Pembrokeshire. However I have found that as a young man John George of Puncheston would ride to Rhydwilym Baptist chapel for services. This would be about? 1790. There was no Baptist chapels at Puncheston at that time. George is quite a frequent surname? in Pembrokeshire so not every "George" is? related. > Maybe members of the "George" society can help. This is an important gathering of people who have the surname George in their family. They used to meet regularly but I do not know if they still do and unfortunately I do not have their contact details. Perhaps a member of this list? would know. > Yvonne Evans > > > ________________________________ > From: "rachel-boyd@sbcglobal.net" <rachel-boyd@sbcglobal.net> > > > ----- Forwarded Message ----- > From: Hal McCawley <HalMac@cox.net> > To: Wales-L <WLS-Pembrokeshire-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 9:21 PM > Subject: [PEM] GEORGE Genealogy > ? > > Any suggestions for researching GEORGE of 1720 Pembrokeshire? > I am searching for the family of my gf Wm GEORGE who migrated from Rhydwilym area ca 1720. > Your advice appreciated. > Hal McCawley, 4178 Pindar Way, Oceanside, CA 92056 > 760-941-4716 > > ------------------------------ > > To contact the DYFED list administrator, send an email to >
