    3. On checking my Evans tree I have found a Sunamees Evans born in the Rosebush/Maenclochog area in 1877. I have tried all ways to trace this surname and did eventually find a woman of that name in Thailand.   On purusing the BMD I found that there were 10 girls given that name between 1846  and 1903. All the girls had Welsh surnames but interestingly apart from my Sunamees of Maenclochog , they were all born Anglesey and Caernarvonshire. I do happen to know that slate quarry workmen from North Wales did immigrate to Rosebush and Maenclochog   around  the years mentioned above. Maybe that is the connection - but what was this name doing in North Wales?!  Sunamees Evans did not have North Walian relatives Can anyone give any ideas as to this mystery!       Yvonne Evans

    3. Hello Yvonne This is probably of no relevance whatsoever, but just wondering if it has anything to do with a 'tsunami' at some point in the past. It would appear to be pronounced the same way. I'm not even sure if tsunami is a modern word or one that would even have been in use in Wales in those days?
