    3. Dear Hal, My understanding is even the Baptists usually married in the recognised established church to make everything legal.......and they sometimes moved out of their own neighbourhood to do so.....others will correct me if I am wrong. 15 seems to be the earliest age for Baptist baptisms, or as an Adult...but whether that was the practice at this particular time I don't know. The marriage records show that a Thomas George married Margaret Hugh at Llandissilio in 1772 but this information came from the Bishop's Transcripts so probably nothing else was shown on the register. A Thomas George also married Matilda David at Llandewy Velfrey in 1685 ...also from the BT's. The earliest William George shown on the Pre 1813 Marriages for Narberth Hundred which covers all these areas, was in 1722 at Carew when he married Catherine Leach and a John George married Sarah Beynon in 1727 at the same place...they may have been brothers. I suggest you now have a few surnames which you can look up in The National Library of Wales pre 1858 Wills site on line in a suitable time frame...I haven't looked myself...but it is worth a try. You might get some understanding of the family.....I recently have seen a few Wills which mentioned children who had gone to America..... to receive a bequest only if they returned home! Hello Hal and List, If you contact the National Library of Wales Aberystwyth they hold a copy of the Rhydwilym chapel Registers dating back to approx 1670's. However I have studied these myself and was unable to find anyone with surname George as early as the dates you are looking for i.e. 1720's approx. I may of course have missed them. I do not think that this register is complete. Greetings from America. I am researching for my grandfather William GEORGE reportedly b 1690-1710 in Pembrokeshire and perhaps bapt at Rhydwilym Chapel. He reportedly migrated to America in 1720s. I know nothing of his spouse, parents or siblings. Could you tell me if these church records are still extant and how I might view them? In parish records, Books, Internet.. Also, what would have been the minimum age for a Baptist boy to have been bapt in that era? I appreciate your assistance.
