Hello List from David Gilroy in St.Albans . Can anyone help me with finding any children of Benjamin and Rachel Lewis (farmer ) probably in the St.Clears area in the very late 1700's or early 1800's ? In the 1841 Census they were at Dolpwll , Penrydd,Pembokeshire . Benjamin died there in 1842 aged about 62 and Rachel also there in 1847aged about 67 .A daughter Phoebe LEWIS living with them is known from a later Census to have been born in St.Clears ,Carmarthenshire in 1817 .They had all lived at Dolpwll from the mid 1830's- before that the following clue . I appear to have found Phoebe on the igi as follows :- Febe LEWIS chr 25 July 1817 at Bethlehem Ind.Congregational ,St.Clears ,Carmarthen of Benjamin LEWIS and Rachel . There is little else obvious and as Phoebe was probably the last of Benjamin and Rachel 's children - where are the rest ? Any ideas and possibly a marriage of Benjamin LEWIS to Rachel ??? around 1800 greatly appreciated . I am awaiting arrival of some Dyfed FHS fiche but they may not be early enough - hence this query . Thanks and best wishes , David Gilroy . 29 October 2009.
