Dear Karen, It would have helped if great-grandmother had a name, but Houses is shown (plural) which sounds like group housing. Without looking looking too far in the 1881 census , there are a group of families living at Porthiddy, Llanrhian around that time. No. 1 Porthiddy houses the Walters family No. 5 houses Henry Martin aged 33, born Llanrhian his wife Martha, aged 38, born Llanrhian Elizabeth aged 3 Mary Ann aged 2 Hanna aged 2 months That's the only family with a three year old girl. However, immediately after No. 6 is a property named Cyffredyn where there is a Martha Ann Williams aged 3 born Llanrhian living with her widowed mother, Hannah. Porthiddy Fawr and Fach, Llanrhian, was home to a notable family which adopted the name of Harries...then the Lort-Phillips family owned it around the time in question. Do any of these surnames belong to Great-Grandmama.
