    1. [Dyfed] DYFED - Welsh male choirs - question

    3. I know this is a little off the genealogy trail, but for me it relates to family history as my grandfather, my father, my brothers and my son all have beautiful "Welsh" voices. While we were in Wales this past spring we had one of the most amazing experiences. From the beach we heard the Tenby Male Choir practicing. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I've never heard anything more beautiful. I've tried to recreate the experience through CDs but with little luck. The Tenby choir actually sent me a complimentary CD but it was made several years ago and was not the same (possibly the quality of the recording itself?). Their new cd hasn't come out yet. The closest thing I have found to the sound we heard that night was a CD called "Voices of the Valley" 2006 from the Fron Male Choir. The first song was called "Sailing". Some of the songs we heard on the Tenby beach that night were: "When you Walk Through a Storm", "Danny Boy", "Shanendoah" (sp), "Take me home"? (from Les Miserable), "All Through the Night" etc. The sounds were deep and rich and beyond description. Does anyone know of any other Welsh Male Choir CDs that we might enjoy or that may be of that quality? Thank you, Lea
