Hello Phillippa Have you seen all the entries in the Cambrian Index? There is an entry for the wife of Captain Dobbin at Milford in a September edition of 1839. I know someone sent you the entry for her husband William. I seem to remember someone quoting a William Dobbin and Elizabeth Sutton and looking at the death index I think there is an entry that may be a mis-spelling Elizabeth Dablin Sept qtr 1839 Haverfordwest 26/375. It might be worth getting the death certificate to see. There are several probable children mentioned in the Cambrian Index. Eliza Dobbin who married Richard Hoare Byers in 1822 William Dobbin who married Rhoda Summers in 1823 a Miss Dobbin who maried James Tyrrell in 1846 - this is Jane Dobbin. Susan Dobbin whi married Francis Thomas , recto of Haroldston West Interestingly Jane is shown as Jane Shaw Dobbin at her marriege and Jane Shaw Tyrrell at her death in 1874 so Shaw could be a significan name.
