Hi Carol This is just a thought but may be worth remembering when you are researching this family. Arthur Lile John, I wonder why the Lile. Looking at the 1813-1837 Pembs marriage index I see there were three men marrying with the surname Lile and 2 of them were from Whitchurch parish. Solva is in the parish of Whitchurch. So could Lile be a carried over family name. We have a John Lile marrying a Amy Evans in Whitchurch (Solva) on the 21 st Oct 1828 and William Lile of Whitchurch marrying Mary Rees at St Davids on the 15th August 1822. There is a Mary Lile a widow, marrying a Joseph Nash of St Davids, Farmer at Whitchurch on the 11th March 1830 and Eleanor Lile marrying Henry Young of Brawdy at Whitchurch on the 19th Feb 1835. As Sarah came from Solva or at least was born there, I would think that name may have some reference. Looking at the pre 1813 marriages, I see a James Lile marrying a Elinor Griffith in St Davids in 1797. 1841 shows the Amy Evans who married John Lile in Solva in 1828 now living in Third Street, Milford, Steynton. She is shown as a Sailors Wife. They named their first son William and second son James. I do not know where you are in the world, so forgive me if I am telling you something you do know. St Davids is the next village to Solva. Sylvia .................................................................
