Could SKS help me find a marriage for.   Richard Hall/Hole  abt 1820 and Martha Hole abt 1821, 1841 cencus for Lamyatt Martha is 20.   Their son Richard was born 1844, in Lamyatt, though only she is on the birth certificate, Richard jnr was married in 1874 and says his father was Richard a labourer.   I appreciate that if a child was elligitimate for appearance sake they made up a father, and since the marriage took place in Monmouth South Wales I guess distance helped.   Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.   Sylvia in Kentucky

Hi Sylvia, On the 1861 census Martha & son Richard are with her brother. Martha is given as Sister Unmarried 44 Invalid Richard Nephew unmarried 17 Ag Lab Illigitamate He must have made up his father.
