Dear Bettye, James James' Will is definitly of my James James and I will search for it at Nat Librry of Wales. As regards the list of Oliver marriages. The ones realated to me are:-Maria Oliver 1707 Married Owen George. Very possibly she was daughter of Vincent Oliver Dinas. Anne Oliver(John Llewellin) m. 1791 Dinas was daughter of Henry Oliver., and possibly Margaret Oliver married 1811 at Fishguard to Ebeneezer Davies at Fishguard was a relation but not Henry's daughter. The lines of James and Oliver come together in 1859 at Aberdare Parish Church, Glamorgan. when Jane James grand-daughter of James James married James Morris son of Mary Oliver. of Puncheston. Jane's father was Stephen James son of James James. That seems your best avenue of research. Between 1813 and 1837 at Fishguard there was only one apparent burial...an Ann Oliver, widow, was buried 15th. May, 1821 aged 90. However, in the marriages, there is also: Anne Oliver 1791 married John Llewellin at Dinas Elizabeth Oliver 1809 m. Thomas Webb at Fishguard Margaret Oliver 1811 married Ebenezer Davies at Fishguard Maria Oliver 1707 married Owen(?) George at Dinas. If any of the above males left Wills, they could have mentioned their in-laws. I've often found brothers-in-law acting as witnesses in Welsh wills. We've all heard the stories of the disappearing records...burnt by the maid, washed away or damaged by floodwater, but perhaps your couple might be found marrying in one of the Independent Chapels close-by.....unless one of the Margarets was called Mary within the family!!!! In Dinas Parish Records I have found christening of Mary Oliver 1795(my g.g. grandmother) whose parents in register were John and Mary Oliver. Regarding James, the wife of James James was a Jane There is a slight possibility she was Cardiganshire and I am pursuing this.i.e. Brongwyn Parish. For your info the Oliver surname has been in Dinas since 1660, but the surname disappears by approx 1830. The reason being the descendants were mostly daughters. I have written down the wills of both Vincent Oliver and Henry Oliver of Dinas. Vincent's Will was in 1780's and could be the father of Henry. but this is only slight possibility as he had two daughters, and no sign of a son.Henry was my g.g.g. grandfather. There was a younger Henry Oliver born approx 1800 and married Dinas 1828 but he disappears from the scene! He could have been brother to my g.g. grandmother.
