    3. Dear all I picked up this book in the local bookshop today: http://www.thehistorypress.co.uk/Default.aspx?tabid=7613&ProductID=8049 159 pages of North Cardiganshire photos, covering: Aberystywth, Llanbadarn Fawr, Capel Bangor, Goginan, Ponterwyd, Ystumtuen, Nant-y-moch, Pontarfynach, Devils Bridge, Pont-rhyd-y-groes, Ysbty Ystwyth, Clarach, Borth, Ynyslas, Bow Street, Llandre, Tal-y-bont, Taliesin, Tre'r-ddol, Egwlsfach, Gandyfi, Penrhyncoch, Salem, Trefeurig. Book was originally published in 1992, so some of you might have seen it before. This is the 2009 print. I don't have any connection with the book ... I'm just someone who's interested in North Cardiganshire history, it being the place where half my ancestors once resided. This is just a heads up of sort, as some of you might be interested. Alison

    3. Dear Alison Fantastic to see it reprinted. I've indexed it and Gareth has kindly put it here: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/CGN/Aberystwyth/AberPhotos.html I was astonished to see a photo including my Taid in it (Willie Thomas, Tre'r ddôl, p. 140), a photo I have an original of. 3. In a narrower vein, Ceiriog Gwynne Evans has just published a fascinating book entitled "Once upon a Time in Goginan". Apart from the history of the village, including the mines, he has a wealth of details of local characters and quite a few nice illustrations. A simple Google search of the title brings plenty of sources of supply. 3. Thanks for the mention David - I've been a bit quiet of late but am still working away behind the scenes on Genuki :-) Perhaps I in turn could put in a plug for the Book Indexing Project which is in its 10th year and is fully detailed on my Help Page. http://home.clara.net/tirbach/hicks1a.html#Indexing Gareth Genuki Wales http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/ Help Page http://home.clara.net/tirbach/hicks.html Cwmgors/Waun http://www.tytwp.plus.com/Waun/Waun.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Rowlands" <drowlan1@bigpond.net.au> To: "Alison Bryan" <alison.bryan@gmail.com> Cc: <DYFED-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2009 9:29 AM Subject: Re: [Dyfed] CGN: Aberystwyth and North Ceredigion - book - indexed! 3. Thanks, Gareth So perhaps someone should like to index the new book on Goginan, which I see is published by Y Lolfa, Tal-y-bont, especially if, as Paul says, it contains references to lots of local characters! 3. Ah great its indexed, plus other books - a resource I didn't know about. David - my dad went to a family funeral at Tre'r ddôl a couple of weeks ago, made me think of you!
