Hi Vera The school at Bush, which is between Pembroke and Pembroke Dock, was Pembroke Grammar School until 1972/3 when the Coronation Secondary School and the Grammar School joined to form the present Comprehensive School at Bush. (I remember Mr Devereux at the Grammar School, I think he was Deputy Head). Prior to Bush, the Grammar School (County School?) was in Pembroke Dock, my mother attended the school there - if you have a look on the following link, it gives the history of the schools - http://www.thepenvro.com/History.html Hope this helps, Sandra --- On Wed, 22/7/09, Vera Lowe <v.lowe@btinternet.com> wrote: From: Vera Lowe <v.lowe@btinternet.com> Subject: [Dyfed] Pembroke Dock County School To: "Dyfed Mailing List" <dyfed@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, 22 July, 2009, 7:00 PM Does anyone know about this school, the predecessor of the present school. All but one of my James family from Hazelbeach went there and I have a prize that was given to my mother for passing the Junior School Certificate. Her headmaster was Mr. Dawes and there was a Miss Perman who seems to have been either a deputy Head or co-Head. Quite a long time ago I was in correspondence with Mr. Windsor Devereux when the school was called the Bush County School. Is that still its name? Vera
