Hi: I have not seen any arrival records for immigrants arriving USA from the Cardiganshire coast but then I have never looked for any.? I would think they would have sailed from the town of Cardigan, however, as it was a great seaport at one time.. I'm interested in your ancestors who left Llangybi Parish.? Who were they?? I've got ancestors from there. Hi Yvonne: I am not sure where he sailed from, but my 2nd gr grandfather Daniel Rees from St. Dogmaels (next door to Cardigan) arrived in Quebec, Canada on his way to the Welsh settlements in New York State. The approx. date was 1847-48. This could also be a possibility Jan Mills Hi: I have not seen any arrival records for immigrants arriving USA from the Cardiganshire coast but then I have never looked for any.? My ancestors from Pembroke Dock and Sheerness and also from East Lothian sailed from Liverpool in the 1850's. I think that is the port most left from for the U.S. and Canada. Hi all, A good place to look for early immigrants to the USA is the Castle Garden site: http://www.castlegarden.org/ A number of people from Dyfed, including a large group from Glynarthen settled in St. Lawrence County, N.Y. A site dedicated to the founders of the Welsh Congregational Church in Richville NY can be found here. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nystlawr/Welsh/richville.html. My THOMAS relatives sailed from Liverpool in 1852 (on the Irene.)
