Yvonne - I, too, have found some documents missing that the Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City had previously filmed. I spoke to one of the workers at the FHL about this, and he said that many documents were filmed years ago. In the meantime, people have gone to the various archives and taken the original documents home with them. Nowadays, there is security, but it didn't used to be this way. So, I'm not surprised you couldn't find the original. I believe the Mormon church began microfilming in England and Wales in the mid 1940's. I was so disappointed that the originals were gone from the various archives.
