    3. Hi Joan I only started researching my husband's tree a week ago, so I'm still in the early days. My husband's g.grandmother was Ellen Phillips, daughter of Thomas Owen Phillips. She married James Lambkin in Sittingbourne, Kent in1883. The christian name Owen is carried down the family line and was one of my father-in-law's names. I haven't sent off for any BMD certificates yet, but the only marriage I can find in the indexes for Thomas Owen Phillips is in Q3 1856 (Haverfordwest vol 11a page 956). This is a marriage to Mary Ann Jenkins. There is a marriage for Mary John to Thomas Phillips in Q4 1858 (Merthyr Tydfil vol 11a page 543). Do you have any certificates, etc to confirm that Mary John was married to Thomas Owen Phillips? Certainly the census entries tally with your info - i.e. Mary says she is born in Newport Pem. Best wishes Denise ________________________________ From: Joan Sims 1 [mailto:joan.sims1@btinternet.com] Sent: Sat 05/12/2009 16:38 To: Denise C. Thomas was injured at the Battle of Alma. He was married to Mary John sister of my gg grandfather Morris John from Newport Pem. Please contact me offlist if you would like me to send any information that I have collected. Kind regards, Joan ---- Original Message ----- From: "pat" <pat@pcubed.demon.co.uk> To: "Denise C.
