    3. Dear Jenny Absolutely masses - but 1841 is a bit early. Central lists of passenger emigrants do not begin until 1890. I would start/continue from the Australia end, and try and find out what boat came into Australia with whoever who are trying to trace. Once you know the name of the vessel there are other records you can then use over here. By 1841 most people were sailing from Liverpool, or sometimes London. It was becoming a well-oiled industry, especially from the industrial valleys of South Wales to the coal mines of Pennsylvania and the farming community. Depends a bit on what questions you are trying to answer - happy to discuss further either on- or offline.
