Hi Joy, If you don't get any answers from the list, you could try contacting someone via the following link. http://www.templetonheritagegroup.org.uk/ . The homepage lists The Union Workhouse as somthing that is to be added to the website. I am wondering if someone with local knowledge can tell me if this was the place originally known as Narberth Union Workhouse. On the www.workhouses.org.uk it states that it was built at Narberth Mountain. Between 1930 and 1948 the workhouse became a Public Assistance Institution and it was during this period that my aunt died. After 1948, it continued to provide care for the elderly under the name of Lodge Hospital. I therefore wonder if it also bore this name during the earlier period. As my aunt previously lived in Church Street, Pembroke Dock I wonder why she was treated in Narberth. Any feedback would be appreciated Bye for now Joy
