You didn't mention which county Trenewydd was in, CMN, CGN or PEM, so cannot tell if any are relevant. Minor correction-and I'm sure what Anne meant - Guto is the accepted diminutive/pet-name for someone called Gruffudd/Gruffydd/Griffith as I assume several of my ancestors were- my paternal grandmother was a Griffiths before she married as was probably my ggg grandmother in the same line!).
