If you are looking for your family in the census returns....... 1861 Living at Alma William Evans, age 50, Gardener, born Cosheston Margaret, wife, age 44, born Bosherston Mary, daughter, age 24, occ Servant, born Bosherston William, son, age 19, occ bricklayers labourer, born Bosherston James, son, age 15, born Bosherston, occ was shown as servant but crossed out. Elizabeth, daughter, age 13, born Bosherston Thomas, son, age 10, born Penally George, son, age 8, born Penally Margaret, daughter, age 3, born Bosherston. William Llewellyn, father inlaw, age 80, occ labourer, born Bosherston. 1871 Living at Alma Cottage, Penally William Evans, age 60, occ Gardener, born Bosherston. Margaret, wife, age 57, born Bosherston. Mary Baker, daughter, age 33, widowed, born Bosherston, occ general servant. Elizabeth Evans, daughter, age 23, born Bosherston. Margaret Evans, daughter, age 12, born Penally. John Evans, son, age 5, born St Issells. 1881 Living at Alma William Evans, age 66, occ Gardener, born Cosheston. Margaret, wife, age 64, born Bosherston. George Evans, son, unmarried, born Penally, occ assistant gardener. Margaret Evans, daughter, age 22, born Penally, occ dressmaker. John Evans, grandson, age 15, born St Issells, occ solicitors clerk. 1891 Living Alma Cottage William Evans, age 78, widowed, born Cosheston, occ gardener market. Also in 1881 and 1891 living at Alma Cottage were James Evans and his family. Looking at the original images. The 1871 does show William as born Bosherston and also shows John as his son. Later census contradict this showing William as born in Cosheston and John as his grandson! 1841 Living at Back Lane, Bosherston William Llewellyn, age 60, occ agricultural labourer. Mary Llewellyn, age 55 Sarah Llewellyn, age 15. 1841 does not give place of birth, other than telling you they were born in Pembrokeshire. William Evans married Margaret Llewhelyn at Bosherston on the 3rd September 1836. A William Llewhelling married a Mary Phillips at Bosherston on the 26th June 1815. The differences in the spelling of the surname Llewellyn are as written at the time. You can find Bosherston baptisms, marriages and deaths on line.
