List Further to Alison's message stating that Terry Davies' second book "Borth: A Maritime History" has been published. According to this weeks edition of the Cambrian News it's the 125th Anniversary of the Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club. Borth Golf Club was a founder member of the Golfing Union of Wales, whose first meeting took place in 1894. In 1938, the inaugural meeting of the newly formed Mid Wales Golf Association was held at the Golf Club, with the hosts being a founder member of the association. As part of the 125th Anniversary celebrations, Tessa Briggs has researched, compiled and edited a book, entitled "Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club: Links with the Past" which charts the history of the club from its early days in the 1870's up to the present. The article states that "Links with the Past" is copiously illustrated throughout, with some photographs dating back to the very early days of the 20th Century; and as such is not just a book for golfers but will be of interest for anyone who is interested in local history.
