    3. Dear Alison The notes in the right hand margin are "Eleven" and "GM." The eleven refers to an error that the registrar made in entering up the details of the death on the certificate. You can see in column 1 that the words "twenty ninth" have been crossed out and replaced by "29th." The numeral 11 has been entered next to the crossing out. GM are the registrar's initials (George Morgan) verifying the error. Registrars had to keep a record of errors they made on certificates, and each error was numbered. This was therefore the 11th mistake that George Morgan had made. There was a similar entry on one of my certificates recently and a very helpful person on the Glamorgan list confirmed with the local register office that this was the standard procedure for recording errors. I'm afraid that this explanation doesn't add anything to the information you already have. Good luck in your search.
