    3. Dear Anna and Gareth Brilliant! Thanks loads for your help. I think you're right, Anna - the place is Pwll rhyd pwnau, or at least the enumerator's version of that! And it also seems likely that Edward Mainwaring worked at Brynhenllys colliery. Thanks for the excellent links to the map and to the information about the colliery. It has really helped to provide a context for Edward's life there in 1841. Thank you to both of you again. With very best wishes Moni 2010/1/18 Gareth <tirbach@clara.co.uk> > Moni > Following on Anna 's comments. > > As well as the link Anna gave, there are also references to Brynhenllys and > Ystradowen on the Coal Mining pages of my Cwmgors a'r Waun site > http://www.tytwp.plus.com/Waun/Coal.html > (Then use your browser's Find facility) > > Thanks from me for that Archaeology Data Service site link too Anna, looks > a site well worth exploring in depth > > Gareth > Genuki Wales http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/ > Help Page http://home.clara.net/tirbach/hicks.html > Cwmgors/Waun http://www.tytwp.plus.com/Waun/Waun.html > > > fromAnna Brueton <bruetons@anoeth.demon.co.uk> > toA Spell In Time <spellintime@googlemail.com>, > Dyfed@rootsweb.com > date18 January 2010 20:00 > subjectRe: [Dyfed] Help with a place name in Llangadog, CMN > hide details 20:00 (4 hours ago) > > Hi again Moni > I've now found the place at www.old-maps.co.uk on the 1888 Brecknockshire > map, where it's shown as Pwll rhyd pwnau.
