Dear Carol, Following upon the abstract information supplied by John: Item 1. Thomas Batha married Mary Batine at Steynton 13.01.1820 There are two Wills listed Mary Batha at Steynton 1808 (who could be Thomas's mother or sister perhaps), and Mary Batha at Milford in 1846....she is more likely to be the Mary who married Thomas Batha. 2. Annie Dorothy Batine would be the daughter of Thomas Batine and Elizabeth Williams who m. Nevern 1802 and lived at Llanwnwr, Llanwnda. 3. Francis Batine Esq. aged 68 i.e. born 1779..Officer in the Indian Army (wonder if his career is traceable)...would be the Francis Batine mentioned in the Will of William Batine, and therefore brother to Thomas Batine of Llanwnwr who was born c. 1771. Francis Batine is mentioned in Sylvia's e-mail of 1/2/2010 which shows him in residence at his brother Thomas's home. 4, Captain Batine who died at Haverfordwest aged 73, i.e. born 1774 could possibly be William, the other son mentioned by William Batine in his Will I looked at the 1841 Steynton census yesterday and located ANNI BATINE in 2nd. Street aged 65, i.e. born c. 1776 who could be Anne mentioned in her father William Batine's 1819 Will, and also MARY BATHA aged 60 (i.e. born 1781) Independent at Castle Hall......she would be the Mary Batine married 1820 Of course the birth years are only estimates, as ages were rounded down in 1841. There is still no further record for Lettice Ford Batine who may have died before her father........because the family had money there may be a monument to her or some of the others in Steynton church. (Major Jones mentioned a memorial and monument to the Phelps family in Steynton Church, details of which I would dearly love to have as George Devonald married Martha Phelps.....they had money too and endowed a school.) .... 5. Thomas Batine's death details we had found previously. We know Thomas Batine mentioned Elizabeth, Eleanor and Bridget as his children in his Will. The records also show Thomas BATIN Labourer marrying Mary Evan at St. Nicholas 12.04.1819 and Francis Batine Ensign 1st./ Regiment of Foot marrying Elizabeth Thomas of Lampeter Pont Stephan at St. David's 02.11.1828. The parish register copies of any family marriages should show witness names which might give further insight into the family. Having renewed my security for two computers, I am well over my limit just about 10 days into this subscription month, so will leave looking up Wills to you, Carol. All good wishes, Bettye Kirkwood.
