    2. Dai & Angela Bevan
    3. Hi all, I picked this up from another list. Very short notice I'm afraid, and probably not an easy journey if the snow we woke up to this morning in London stays. To tie in with the Archive Awareness Campaign <http://www.archiveawareness.com/> theme Take Flight, The National Archives is hosting a special talk, free of charge, on *Thursday 14 January, 14:00-15:00,* on the migration of the Welsh to Patagonia <http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/events/patagonia-14-01-10.htm>. Bruno Derrick, The National Archives' Records Specialist in Maritime and Transport, is giving the talk, and will focus on issues associated with this mass migration, using sources such as the census, passenger lists, and colonial records. 1. [Dyfed] THomas ELIAS - CGN/PEM/CMN ?
    2. H. J.
    3. Hello, Can anyone help please? Does anyone have access to Dyfed pre 1837 marriages? I'm looking for the marriage of Thomas ELIAS & Mary, possibly about1790 ish. Their children were christened in Brongwyn/Trewen between 1795 & 1805 & Free Reg says the birth parish was Llandygwydd, which ties in with one son's entry in 1851 Census. However, I can't find their marriage or Thomas' birth in the area. Llandygwydd is on the border with CMN & not that far from PEM, so it could have been in any. Many thanks Heulwen

    3. Dear Sue I'm a recent member of this list and have corresponded with you briefly about my Llannon Mainwarings. The Llannon Mainwarings are all probably inter-related but as yet I don't know how my lot may link in with yours. I haven't traced as far back as you yet, but in brief this is the info I have in case you or any other Mainwaring researchers find a connection. My Mainwarings lived at Brynteg, outside Tumble in Llannon at least from 1821-1851. A "c" in front of any dates below indicates that I have no birth record for that apart from the censuses. As yet I have virtually nothing from parish records on any of this family. EDWARD MAINWARING (c 1788-1851), farmer and collier, married MARY WILLIAMS (c 1799-1863/5) in Llannon in 1815. Their children were: Thomas (1821-) John (c 1826-1881) moved to Swansea, married Mary?? Mary (c 1827-) Rachael (c 1832-) Daniel (c 1837-1894) moved to Swansea, married Mary Perkins Robert (1838-1917) moved to Swansea, married Catherine Williams After Edward Mainwaring's death in 1851, his widow Mary nee Williams, moved to Swansea and lived with her son Robert. The story of her sons continues in the coal mines of Swansea and the Rhondda Valley. I hope that we can eventually find the links between our Llannon Mainwarings and would welcome information from anyone about the parentage of Edward Mainwaring and Mary Williams, or details from any of the parish records for their offspring. Also does anyone know what happened to their two daughters: Mary who disappeared from the records after the 1841 census (there are several possible deaths for her and one possible marriage on Free BMD between 1841 and 1851): and Rachael who disappeared after the 1851 census (I can find no trace of her in the 1861 census or on Free BMD between 1851 and 1861). With thanks and best wishes to everyone for 2010 Moni 2010/1/10 Sue <sue.cartref@virgin.net>: > > Hi, > > A Happy 2010 to all. > > I am putting my research names in the Roll call in the hope something will come up:- > > MAINWARING  in and around Llanedi, Llanon, Llanelli, Llandybie, Ammanford areas Carmarthenshire, from 1400-present day. > > VAUGHAN - 1500's and before Llanon and Llanedi. > MORGAN -   1800's and before Llanon, Llanedi, etc. > > Best wishes > > Sue in Suffolk >

Jones shown, but not in the time frame you seek, and with different initials. Dave Jenkins name does not appear in the current List of Office Holders for the Cardiganshire FHS, but Menna Evans of The National Library, Aberystwyth, is the current Secretary and her last report shows an e-mail address ymholiadau@cgnfhs.org.uk... perhaps she could tell you how to contact him.
